Magnetic resonance imaging of bone tumours and
mimics: pictorial essay
- Canadian Association of Radiologists Journal
|
|
MRI plays
several roles in the evaluation of known or suspected bone
tumours. Radiologists should carry out MRI with a view to
staging primary bone sarcomas. Image-guided biopsy of a
possible sarcoma should not be performed without prior
consultation with an orthopedic oncologist, to avoid
microscopic tumour contamination of tissues outside of the
surgical bed. Familiarity with the characteristic MRI
appearances of common tumours and tumour-like conditions
facilitates accurate lesion diagnosis and plays an important
role in determining patient management...

The association of cartilage volume with knee pain
- Osteoarthritis and Cartilage |
|
Conclusion:
This study suggests that alterations in patella volume are
associated with pain, function and global scores of the
WOMAC. In participants with more knee pain, there was an
association with severity of patella cartilage reduction.
Other MRI cartilage volume features were not strongly
associated with WOMAC sub-scores... |

a motorcycle collision. The mechanisms of injury,
management, role of imaging, and complications of this
injury complex are discussed, with a review of the relevant
literature... |
