Axial fat-saturated FSE imaging of knee: appearance
of meniscal tears
- Skeletal Radiology
|
|
Conclusion:
Axial fat-saturated fast spin echo images can show a variety
of meniscal tears in definable patterns and may potentially
provide additional characterization of meniscal tears.
Further evaluation is needed to validate the proposed
criteria for meniscal tears and to study the accuracy of
axial images in the detection and characterization of
meniscal tears... |

First histologically confirmed case of a classic
chordoma arising in a precursor benign notochordal lesion:
differential diagnosis of benign and malignant notochordal
lesions -
Skeletal Radiology |

Intraosseous schwannoma of the humerus
- Skeletal Radiology |
|
Intraosseous
schwannomas are rare benign neoplasms of the bone, of which
fewer than 200 cases have been described in the world
literature. These tumors are well-defined, lytic lesions,
rarely associated with pathologic fracture... |

Tuberculosis of the hip as the presenting sign of
HIV and simulating pigmented villonodular synovitis
- Skeletal Radiology |
|
A 36-year old
man, with no prior known exposure to human immunodeficiency
virus (HIV) or tuberculosis, presented with monoarticular
pain and a decreased range of motion in his left hip.
Radiography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed bony
erosive lesions, juxta-articular cysts, a large effusion,
and juxta-articular edema... |

Bone destruction patterns of the rheumatoid elbow: A
radiographic assessment of 148 elbows at 15 years
- Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
|
|
Bone
destruction in both the humerus and the olecranon appears to
be a late consequence of rheumatoid elbow involvement. Bone
loss is always present in the situation of rheumatoid elbow
replacement, and it is most remarkable in Larsen grade 5
joints; the risk of preoperative and intraoperative
complications due to bone destruction is significantly
increased in this group... |
