Dr. Robert GW Lambert, FRCPC - Professor, University of
Alberta
Goal/Objective:
review the epidemiology, histology, and natural history of inflammatory
sacroiliitis. The imaging appearances of sacroiliitis will be illustrated in the
context of confounding factors that challenge radiological interpretation
including anatomical and physiological variation, and biomechanical/degenerative
changes. Advice will be provided as to when to emphasize the specificity versus
sensitivity of the interpretation.
The lecture will conclude with a discussion of
advanced MRI techniques and an internationally endorsed recommendation for ‘a
minimum standard protocol for MRI of the SI Joints’. Participants will
understand: the evolution of the imaging appearances of sacroiliitis and how
they differ from biomechanical changes; when the interpretation of the imaging
should emphasize specificity versus sensitivity; and how best to image the SI
joints with MRI.

Accurate assessment of hepatic metastasis response to therapy requires
appropriate imaging technique and accurate clinical information. For most
relevant results, assessment should be specific to tumor and therapy.
Standardized methods of assessing response to cytotoxic, cytostatic and
image-guided therapies will be discussed. Role of newer imaging methods to
